The Tall Lighthouse

pilot series

We are pleased to announce that we have embarked on an exciting project, publishing eighteen poets from Great Britain & Northern Ireland aged 30 or younger under the editorship of Roddy Lumsden who will share his vast experience with these young poets, helping develop their work and to publish their first volume of poetry. The project has attracted Arts Council funding for which we are grateful.

The first pamphlets were published in April 2007, and we have now published the eighteen pamphlets from the project -

Abi Curtis - humbug

Adam O'Riordan - queen of the cotton cities

Camellia Stafford - another pretty colour, another break for air

Gareth Jones - weekend millionnaires

Jay Bernard's - your sign is cuckoo, girl

Miriam Gamble - this man's town

John McCullough - the lives of ghosts

Retta Bowen - the ornamental world

Kate Potts - whichever music

Vidyan Ravinthiran - at home or nowhere

Ben Wilkinson - the sparks

Emily Berry - stingray fevers

Amy Key - instead of stars

Sarah Howe - a certain chinese encyclopedia

Charlotte Runcie - seventeen horse skeletons

Richard O'Brien - your own devices

NEW Ailbhe Darcy - a fictional dress (published january 2010)

NEW Simon Pomery - the stream (published january 2010)

Already the scheme has met with great success, with Jay Bernard - your sign

is cuckoo girl & Kate Potts - whichever music being selected as Poetry Book Society pamphlet choices & Kate Potts pamphlet was shortlisted for the inaugral Michale Marks Award.

We hope to build upon this and over the course of the project provide an exhaustive list of the new talent writing poetry today - keep your eye on the

list, as it's sure to include names that will feature heavily in the future of the nation's poetry scene.
