Tea lights from fizzbombs
The night after a 500lb bomb
was chased from Derry
I watched news items
remembering the dead of Omagh
and a stain glass window
in Castlereagh Council
commemorating the victims
of the La Mon bomb
and went for a drink in
The Strand Bar where someone
had put a lot of work
into lighting little tea lights
all over the surfaces, on top of the till
between the optics and pint glasses
on the shelves and counters
so that the whole place flickered
and glowed in an orange light
and if you squinted your eyes
in and out of focus
it looked like a magic grotto
or burning rubble
