A Statement from Gareth Lewis
It is my great pleasure to take over from Les Robinson as the new director and editor of tall-lighthouse press, who for the last decade has been one of the most innovative and successful publishers of poetry in the United Kingdom.
As with any major change in the management of a company, there will be an initial few months where administrative concerns take priority. I expect that that these matters will be dealt with by the end of 2011, following which tall-lighthouse will look to publish 4 collections per year. It will also continue to publish poetry pamphlets by new authors.
Tall-lighthouse remains committed to an open submission policy.
No changes have been made to the sales part of the website and it remains easy to purchase any of our books from the publications page. I will also be looking to expand tall-lighthouse’s distribution links so that our books are more freely available.
In terms of my own background, I and two colleagues have run an independent poetry press, Vintage Poison, for the last four years. I will remain in charge of this press, which remains committed to publishing the very best new poets operating in the performance poetry world today.
On a personal note, I would like to thank Les for bringing so many brilliant new voices into print. It is an honour to be taking over a list of such depth and talent, and I hope that the next decade will be as successful and rewarding as the last.
Gareth
